Jack Smith has very little left. After he loses his job, his car, and his health in a string of bad luck, he finds himself drowning in debt to a massive corporation with a criminal underbelly. But when he's offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to win a chance to clear his name and make more money than he's ever seen at once, he has no choice but to bet what's left of his future.
After all, rent's due on the first.
Three Aces is a SFW visual novel. The game is incomplete, but around 8.5k words are out now. The first build of Three Aces was made as a solo project for the May Wolf 2024 game jam. One sprite in the game was created by Choky.

I promise I am!! I've been going through big life stuff recently but I'm very glad to see that people care about my little story. I'm working on a bunch of new art which is the hardest part alongside some other smaller scale VN projects.

Nice story, and lovely sprites! Jack and Remy are both characters easy to love, they both struggle so hard to just survive, poor them 😭

This is the first VN I read that uses the Tasmanian devil sprite.

Edit 3: Ok. I have finished reading this VN. Here are my thoughts.
I liked the story you went for. It reminds me of Squid Game a bit. It is one of those VN's in which the plot can be just as interesting as the characters, if not more.
The fact custom sprites were made for this VN is amazing. It provides the game with its own unique vibe. The visual component of presentation was decent; however, the VN could use some modifications in sound design (for example, music representing tension drags on for too long and loses its effect).
As some comment has stated, I am not sure about how you implemented the theme. If I had to make a guess, I'd say it is expansion of greed.
That's what I think of this VN. Thanks for the experience (and the accidental Roblox Flood Escape reference).
it's a nice read! great artstyle. neat usage of clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades on the character designs and in the gui. oh, and a sort-of plot twist that i really should have seen coming, but a fun one nonetheless
